LEARN ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT MANDATE

Show us these two things to climb:

  • ONTARIO COVID-19 VACCINATION RECEIPT

with your name, birthday, and stating you received 2 doses

  • PHOTO IDENTIFICATION

to confirm your identity and get your status assigned properly in our database

Present your documents at the front desk starting today to help us avoid lineups when the mandate begins on September 22nd.

We’ll reconfirm everybody’s status in October.

The Government of Ontario is developing an app-based vaccine passport to make sharing your status more secure, and integrating medical exemptions into the app. We will require all visitors to reconfirm their vaccine status using this system whenever it is released.

FAQ

Can I email you my vaccine receipt and ID?
No! Do not email or mail (or text, or DM, or snap) your documents to us. Present it to us at the front desk, either on your phone or on paper.

I got vaccinated outside of Ontario and/or don’t have an Ontario COVID-19 Vaccination Receipt. What proof can I provide?
Residents vaccinated outside of the province should follow the provincial guidelines and contact their local health unit to be added to the Ontario database and receive valid documentation. This is important to do BEFORE the provincial app is released in October.

Non-residents may show their provincial or national Proof of Vaccination from their relevant jurisdiction, proving they received:

  • a full series of vaccinations approved by Health Canada: 2 doses of Pfizer, Moderna, or Astra Zeneca, or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson, or any combination of those vaccines

  • one or two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine not authorized by Health Canada, followed by one dose of a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine authorized by Health Canada (Pfizer or Moderna)

  • three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine not authorized by Health Canada

I have a medical exemption and an official doctor’s note to prove it. Can I climb?
Yes, just present your doctor’s note and photo identification to the front desk and we’ll update your status. When we re-check vaccine status in October with the new app, your exemption will be built into that application and we’ll no longer accept doctor’s notes.

My child is too young to be vaccinated. Can they climb?
Children age 11 and younger are exempt from this government policy. This exemption also covers all participants in our School of Rock program.

I don’t want to climb while this government policy is in place. Can I freeze or terminate my membership?
Members can request to freeze or terminate their memberships at any time using our Membership Change Form. Memberships are non-refundable, and our 1 Month Prepaid, 3 Month Prepaid, Welcome Pack, and Semester Pass memberships are not eligible for freezes.

What medical information do you store about me?
We don’t keep any medical documentation about our customers. Our staff will visually verify your documents and check a box beside your name.

I still have questions.
If you have questions or concerns about the government’s policy, please contact your local public health department or your Member of Provincial Parliament. If you have questions about how we implement the policy at Joe Rockhead’s, please email us to receive a response from a manager.
